Waves, Tides & Currents
Gain more confidence in moving water. You’ll learn to assess water conditions, adapt your dive accordingly, and handle currents efficiently. Entry and exit techniques and the associated safety procedures are also covered.
What can you expect?
Waves, Tides & Currents is a specialty program designed for divers who want to learn how to dive safely and in control under dynamic water conditions. During this course, you’ll learn how to deal with currents, waves, and tides.
Diving in moving water requires adapted techniques, planning, and situational awareness. This program focuses on developing skills that ensure more control, safety, and comfort during drift dives.
The focus is on risk management, technique, and dive planning.

How your dive proceeds
Check-in
Check in at the counter 15 minutes beforehand. You’ll receive a colored wristband – always wear it visibly, it grants access to the Experience Zone. Your 2-hour dive session starts now.
Change clothes
- Put on your swimwear
- Store your belongings in a locker (opened with your wristband)
- Go barefoot to the fourth floor (stairs or elevator)
- Bring your own dive gear with you
Disinfect gear & shower
- Go through the foot bath and take a shower
- Pick up rented gear
- Disinfect it in the sink and rinse.
- Shower again before entering the water
After your dive
- Disinfect your gear
- Return the gear
- Change clothes
- Deposit your wristband in the box – within 2 hours.
Certification and follow-up opportunities
After completing the program:
- The participant receives the Waves, Tides & Currents certification
- The diver possesses the skills for drift diving
- The diver can better assess and manage water movement
